Greek Mythology in Westworld

Hi guys. Please excuse if this question has been dealt with previously as I came to be a fan of the show after week 7. As a result, there is no way for me to have caught up on Theory podcast in less than a week. That said, something has been nagging at me since I first started watching Westworld. One of the first things I noticed was the myriad of source material that it was pulling ideas from or at least tipping his hat to. Within the first couple episodes I began thinking of the maze from Greek myth and the fight between Wyatt’s man dressed as a Minotaur, and the Man in Black with Teddy. My knowledge of Greek mythology is limited, to say the least, but I’m wondering if that story has been compared to what’s going on within the show. A quick Google search shows relatively few references including Greek mythology, the maze, Minotaur, and Westworld. Right about now I wish that my brother had gotten into the show already because he knows Greek mythology very well but doesn’t know the show so I’m hoping one of you three having knowledge that would be able to delve into this a little bit.

Please ignore any strange wording or typos in this email and if you use it in the podcast please feel free to edit them out. The keyboard on my laptop is not working properly and I’m having to dictate this into my computer. What makes me able to write very quickly it does allow a certain number of errors to sneak through.

Thanks for the taking the time to read my letter. I’m enjoying the bulk of your podcasts and I’m looking forward to season two more than I can explain.
