American Gods Episode 3 Review: “Munnin”

“Munnin” —episode 3 of American Gods’ second season— showed us Mr. Wednesday really is pulling the strings behind many of our favorite characters. It also showed us a different side of Ricky Whittle when Shadow Moon loosened up for juuuust a second.

New Media finally arrived on the scene and wasn’t quite what we expected. Then things got REALLY unexpected as she … interfaced with the god of surveillance, Argus.

Iktomi and Sam Black Crow added Native American viewpoint to the kaleidoscopic cast, sending The King Bee and Gene Lyons rushing into research mode. And we found some interesting stuff.

Listeners wrote in this week to speculate on Bilquis’ power and correct us on perceptions of skin color in the black community. And Shat on TV gets a warning from one fan: Stop being so negative, or you’ll sour the crowd.

Storyline for “Muninn”:
Episode 3: As he is tracked by Mr. World, Shadow makes his way to Cairo, thanks to a ride from Sam Black Crow. Mr. Wednesday slyly gains Laura’s help in forging an alliance with a powerful god.
